A 10-minute drive through the Lowther valley to your barber on Skirsgill Lane, Penrith
Askham is one of those picture-postcard Cumbrian villages — the long green, the stone cottages, Lowther Castle just up the road. It's a beautiful spot to live, but it's not exactly brimming with barbershops. The nearest decent option is BB's Barbers over on Skirsgill Lane, Penrith, and the good news is it's only about 5 miles and 10 minutes through the lanes past Lowther. A quick hop rather than a day trip.
We're a two-chair shop run by Andrew and Isaac, and between us we handle the full range of men's and boys' cuts. Whether you want a traditional scissor cut, a clean skinfade, a textured crop, or a beard tidy-up, we give every cut the same level of care. There's no assembly line feel here — you get a proper consultation, an unhurried cut, and a result you're actually happy with. That approach has earned us 97 Google reviews at 4.8 stars, and a lot of those come from customers in the surrounding villages who value quality over convenience.
The drive from Askham is one of the nicer ones you'll do — through the Lowther estate, past the castle grounds, and into Skirsgill Lane, Penrith. You'll find free parking directly outside the shop when you arrive, so no need to mess about in Penrith town centre. If you've been putting off finding a barber because nothing nearby felt worth the effort, give us a try. Book online through Setmore or ring us on 01768 866472 and we'll get you sorted.
